Nassau rugs, by neighborhood
Nassau is where most of Long Island's fine rugs live, and the routes reflect it. The North Shore route through Great Neck, Manhasset, Port Washington, Roslyn, Old Westbury and Oyster Bay collects Persian city rugs, Oushaks, silk pieces and designer Tibetans. The mid‑island route through New Hyde Park, Garden City, Mineola, Westbury, Hicksville, Plainview and Levittown collects the Kashans, Sarouks, Bokharas and Herizes of long‑established homes, and a great many tufted and everyday rugs. The South Shore route through Valley Stream, the Five Towns, Long Beach, Rockville Centre, Merrick, Bellmore and Massapequa collects everything from inherited Sarouks to beach‑house dhurries and, after every storm, flooded rugs.
Every pickup is two technicians for room‑size rugs, one for small pieces; furniture moved, rug rolled on a tube, returned in seven to ten days laid in place.
Rugs are rolled pile‑out and wrapped for the route.
