The rugs we collect from Hicksville, Plainview, Syosset and Jericho
Being this close to the plant changes how the area is served. Instead of a fixed route day, Hicksville, Plainview, Old Bethpage, Bethpage, Syosset, Woodbury and Jericho are covered whenever a van is going out, which usually means pickup within a day or two of booking, and it means a customer who would rather bring the rug in can be at 44 Executive Blvd in a quarter of an hour, stay for the fiber test and the dye test, and see exactly what will happen to it. A large share of our drop‑off customers come from these towns.
The rugs themselves are the full range of Long Island. Hicksville, Plainview and Bethpage are established family neighborhoods of capes, splits and ranches, and their rugs run from hand‑knotted pieces bought decades ago (Pakistani Bokharas, Indian and Chinese Persian‑design rugs, Herizes and Kashans) through everyday tufted and machine‑made rugs to the Moroccans and viscose "silk" rugs of recent renovations. Syosset, Woodbury and Jericho are larger and newer, with the designer rugs of recent construction, Tibetan, transitional and Oushak‑style, and the fine Persians of the older Jericho and Woodbury houses.
North of the Expressway the character changes again. Oyster Bay, Oyster Bay Cove, Locust Valley, Lattingtown and Mill Neck are the old North Shore, with antique Persian, Caucasian and Turkish rugs in houses that have had them for generations and large Oushaks in the renovated ones. Glen Cove and Sea Cliff add Victorian houses with hooked, braided and needlepoint rugs alongside the Orientals, and the damp of the waterfront that goes with all of them.
Rugs are rolled pile‑out on a tube and wrapped for the route to Farmingdale.
