The rugs we collect from Melville, Dix Hills and Commack
Dix Hills, Melville and Half Hollow Hills are large‑lot suburbs built mostly from the 1960s through the 1990s, with big colonials and contemporaries and rugs sized for them: room‑size and oversize hand‑knotted rugs bought when the houses were new (Pakistani Bokharas, Indian Persian‑designs, Chinese 90‑line rugs, Kashans and Tabrizes), replaced or joined over the years by decorator Oushaks, Tibetans, Moroccans and the viscose "silk" rugs of recent renovations. Commack, Elwood and Wheatley Heights are similar on a smaller scale, and East Farmingdale is around the corner from the plant.
Because the plant is so close, this is where we see the most drop‑offs and the most customers who stay to watch the inspection, and where a rug with a problem (a spill last night, a puppy accident this morning) can be at the plant the same day.
Rugs are rolled pile‑out on a tube and wrapped for the route to Farmingdale.
