The rugs we collect from Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor
Huntington village and the neighborhoods around it, with their Victorian, colonial and shingle houses, send us a mix that looks like a rug dealer's inventory: room‑size Persians (Tabriz, Heriz, Kashan) in the older houses, Oushaks and Tibetans in the renovated ones, kilims and Moroccans in the newer interiors, and a steady stream of everyday tufted wool from the family streets of South Huntington and Huntington Station. Huntington's antique shops and its long history as a place where people collected things also mean more antique rugs per pickup than anywhere else in Suffolk.
Along the water, Huntington Bay, Halesite, Cold Spring Harbor, Lloyd Harbor and Lloyd Neck are estate country: very large rugs chosen by decorators, oversize Oushaks and ivory Moroccans, fine silk and silk‑highlight Persians in formal rooms, and the damp that comes with a harbor view. Centerport and Greenlawn are older, more modest and full of inherited rugs that have been on the same floors since the 1960s.
Because the plant is only twenty minutes down Route 110, Huntington is served several times a week rather than on a single route day, and it is a common drop‑off.
Rugs are rolled pile‑out on a tube and wrapped for the route to Farmingdale.
